In 1974 the legendary jazz pianist Bill Evans (1929-1980) went into the Columbia studios in New York with his trio and a large orchestra to record the remarkable album Symbiosis for the German jazz label MPS. This extraordinary composition by Claus Ogerman (1930-2016), a combination of symphonic and jazz elements, has never been performed live in concert - until now.

To pay tribute to the genius of Bill Evans, jazz pianist Thomas Clausen, his trio and the SSO will also perform the Bill Evans Suite, including Waltz for Debby, written by composer-trumpeter Palle Mikkelborg.
